About

Éabha Róis

My work begins in the quiet spaces between memory and myth.

Growing up in the Irish countryside, I was from early childhood exposed to stories and folklore passed down through generations. I learned early that the world is shaped as much by what we imagine as by what we see.

Through painting and mixed media, I explore the fragile seams where the natural world meets the emotional one.

I am drawn to textures that feel lived-in – weathered wood, layered pigments, threads that unravel and rebind. These materials mirror the way human experience is built – not in linear narratives, but in accumulations, erasures and unexpected returns.

I always seek to create work that invites viewers into moments of stillness, where they can meet their own histories with gentleness.

I like to work with bold colours and intricate textures, to blend painting, drawing, print media imagery and found objects. This process allows me to create tactile dreamlike landscapes that exist in the liminal space between imagination and memory.

I have exhibited my work both nationally and internationally, and it has been added to private collections in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
